Accessibility and Inclusion (A&I) Lab: Empowering Innovation for Universal Accessibility

When:  Jun 16, 2023 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (AEDT)

Welcome to the Accessibility and Inclusion (A&I) Lab, a dynamic and inclusive space dedicated to fostering creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration for addressing accessibility challenges.

This weekly one-hour session brings together both internal and external teams, providing a platform to learn, seek advice, conduct testing, and engage in thought-provoking discussions to drive innovation and promote accessibility for all.

During each session, participants will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics related to accessibility, inclusion, and universal design. Our facilitators will guide discussions and encourage brainstorming sessions where individuals can freely share ideas, insights, and experiences.

In the A&I Lab, we prioritise both simple and complex accessibility issues, recognising that even small improvements can have a significant impact on people's lives. Our goal is to empower teams to develop creative solutions that address barriers faced by individuals with disabilities and promote an inclusive society.

Participants can leverage the A&I Lab's ambassadors and resources, including assistive technologies testing tools and case studies, to gain practical insights and conduct hands-on test and review.

Key Features of the A&I Lab:

Open and inclusive discussions: Engage in conversations with a diverse group of participants, sharing knowledge and experiences to promote innovative solutions.

Collaborative problem-solving: Work together with fellow team members to tackle accessibility challenges, combining expertise from various backgrounds.

Hands-on experimentation: Utilise the lab's resources to test and evaluate the accessibility of your projects, gaining practical insights for improvement.

Expert guidance and advice: Benefit from the expertise of facilitators who can provide guidance, share best practices, and answer your questions.

Continuous learning: Each session offers opportunities for ongoing education, staying up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and tools in the field of accessibility and inclusion.

Whether you're a designer, developer, product manager, or simply passionate about creating inclusive solutions, the A&I Lab offers a supportive environment to enhance your understanding and/or practice.
